Zahler makes two prenatal softgels that both include DHA: Mighty Mini Prenatal + DHA and Prenatal +DHA 300. They are built for different priorities. Mighty Mini puts the essentials into one small softgel a day. Prenatal +DHA uses two larger softgels a day to deliver higher amounts of several nutrients, including three times the amount of DHA.
The right choice depends on how easily you swallow pills, what your diet already covers and what your healthcare provider recommends. The comparison below uses the Supplement Facts panel from each product.
Key points
- Mighty Mini is one small softgel a day with 19 vitamins and minerals plus 100 mg of DHA.

Where the differences matter
DHA
DHA is an omega-3 fat that is a structural part of the brain and the retina. An international expert consensus published in the British Journal of Nutrition recommends that pregnant and breastfeeding women aim for an average of at least 200 mg of DHA a day. Prenatal +DHA provides 300 mg per serving. Mighty Mini provides 100 mg, which works well for women who also eat fish such as salmon or sardines once or twice a week. If you rarely eat seafood, the higher amount in Prenatal +DHA may be the better fit.
Iodine
The recommended iodine intake is 220 mcg a day during pregnancy and 290 mcg during breastfeeding. Prenatal +DHA's 290 mcg matches the breastfeeding recommendation. Mighty Mini's 145 mcg covers about half, with the rest expected to come from foods such as dairy, eggs, seafood and iodized salt.
Iron
Iron needs rise sharply in pregnancy to 27 mg a day. Prenatal +DHA provides the full 27 mg. Mighty Mini provides 18 mg, about two-thirds. Some women tolerate a lower-iron prenatal more comfortably, and some providers recommend a separate iron supplement based on blood work. This is a good question to bring to your prenatal appointments.
Calcium, magnesium and choline
Mighty Mini leaves these out to keep the softgel small. Prenatal +DHA includes some of each, though no prenatal provides the full daily amount of calcium (1,000+ mg for most adult women) or choline (450 mg in pregnancy, 550 mg while breastfeeding). Both are found in everyday foods. Dairy and fortified alternatives supply calcium, and eggs, meat and fish are among the richest sources of choline.
How long each package lasts
Mighty Mini is one softgel a day, so the 30-softgel bottle lasts one month and the 90-softgel bottle lasts three months.
Prenatal +DHA is two softgels a day, so the 60-softgel box lasts one month, the 120-softgel box two months and the 180-softgel box three months.
The larger sizes of both products cost less per month. Current prices are listed on each product page, and Subscribe & Save lowers them significantly.
What customers say
Mighty Mini's reviews focus on how easy it is to take. One verified buyer wrote that she took it "for 9 months of TTC [trying to conceive], 9 months of pregnancy and now 4 months postpartum."
Prenatal +DHA is Zahler's most-reviewed prenatal, with more than 140 reviews and an average of 4.8 stars. One verified reviewer, a midwife, wrote:
"As a midwife I recommend this to all my clients."
Can you switch between them?
Yes. Some women start with Mighty Mini in the first trimester, when swallowing pills can be hardest, and move to Prenatal +DHA later in pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Others do the reverse. Talk with your doctor or midwife before changing, especially if you've been advised to take a specific amount of iron or another nutrient.
